El atleta gomero disputa la prestigiosa MSIG Sai Kung, en la que toman parte los mejores corredores del mundo
Cristofer Clemente abrirá este sábado [7 de Febrero] la temporada 2015, y lo hará disputando una de las pruebas más prestigiosas del panorama mundial, la MSIG Sai Kung de Hong Kong (China). El atleta del Race Land Team (LAND, La Sportiva, Polar Aventure, 226Ers y Cabildo de La Gomera) arranca así un nuevo curso, después de los éxitos obtenidos en 2014 tanto a nivel nacional e internacional, con la participación en el circuito de la Skyrunning World Series como gran novedad en su calendario.
El deportista gomero, inicialmente, analizaba la nueva campaña. “Empiezo de nuevo en el mes de febrero, pero esta vez cambio la Maratón del Meridiano, en El Hierro, por la MSIG Sai Kung, en Hong Kong, algo que supone un gran avance para mí y que me ilusiona muchísimo. Tomar parte en el circuito Skyrunning World Series supone una gran oportunidad. Tenía muchas ganas de participar y por ello estoy muy agradecido a mi nuevo equipo, el Race Land Team”, subrayó.
En este sentido continuaban las palabras de Cristofer Clemente. “Soy un muy consciente de que voy a pelear en cada carrera con los mejores del mundo, y que es muy probable que en esta temporada no me suba a ningún podio, pero para mí, luchar contra ellos, ya es un gran premio. Es considerado el mejor circuito mundial de ‘Ultras’, pues en él se dan cita los mejores corredores del planeta, incluido el considerado mejor corredor de montaña de todos los tiempos, Kilian Jornet. Por esa razón, estoy muy ilusionado con este circuito, y espero compartir más de una línea de salida con los grandes de este deporte”, añadió.
Por último, el corredor del Race Land Team, que participará en la prueba de 50 kilómetros de la MSIG Sai Kung (con 5.600 metros de desnivel acumulados), se expresaba sobre la preparación de este nuevo curso. “Por suerte podemos decir que la pretemporada ha sido bastante buena. La campaña pasada no sufrimos ninguna lesión, por lo que nos hemos podido recuperar con facilidad del esfuerzo hecho durante todo el año, y hemos preparado la prueba como suelo acostumbrar, en los senderos de mi Isla y bajo la supervisión de mi entrenador”, concluyó.
